Last year Whatcom County lost a friend and brother. Although never a members of CVI, Steve was a Vietnam Veteran who loved to ride and was well liked by everyone who knew him.
Steve's obituary read:

"Steven Douglas Ferriby, born October 16, 1951, died January 16,2000, at home in Custer, Washington. Medic, mechanic, motorcyclist, skier, diver, healer of men & machines, he was a man who made his own path in life. A proud individualist, at heart & in deed, he never believed you cannot fight city hall. He spoke up for his beliefs & stood tall in his place."

Steve served in Vietnam with the 283rd Medical Detachment.

A memorial ride was held to honor his memory, followed by a remembrance at a friend's house with plenty of food, drink, and Steve stories, just he way he would have wanted it. More recently, his friends planted a dogwood tree in his name at Whatcom Falls Park. Here is a picture of Steve, and a picture of his dogwood. More pictures and remembrances will follow as they are submitted. If you have anything that would like to say to or about Steve, or a photo that you would like to share, please get it to the webmaster.
